SAD: ‘They came into this world together and they have gone together’: Heartbroken father of twins, 12, who died with their mother when their car smashed into M&S lorry speaks of his ‘enormous loss’

Jane Baker-Lockett (left), 43, and her children, 12-year-old twins James and Amy Gaskin (left inset and centre), died in a collision with an M&S lorry (top right)while driving towards Barnstaple in Devon. The family from the Milton Keynes area were believed to have been travelling to a holiday in two cars when the collision happened on the A361 near Aller Cross. Mrs Baker-Lockett’s husband Paul Lockett (bottom right, together), 42, – stepfather to James and Amy – was travelling separately in front of her white Kia Sportage with their son Jack, 14. Mrs Baker Lockett died at the scene on Monday and Amy was pronounced dead on arrival at North Devon District Hospital. James was taken to hospital in an air ambulance but died shortly after his arrival. Meanwhile a nine-year-old girl has died after a separate crash on the same road on Sunday, which also injured her mother and a seven-year-old child.
