Slumdog Millionaire actress Freida Pinto has denied reports that she was going to be a Bond girl.

Talking to Lorraine Kelly on ITV on Monday morning, the 32-year-old star said: ‘I did not go for a Bond Girl (role) – that’s a rumor.’

She elaborated: ‘I’d just come onto the scene with Slumdog and with any actor or actress who gets fame… the Bond rumor is like an initiation ceremony.

‘It was flattering; I was 24 when it came out and I would’ve felt out of my depth (if I had been a Bond Girl).’

The actress, who currently stars in Guerrilla, added that she would only play a Bond Girl on particular terms.

‘Now I know what I want to do and what I don’t want to do and I wouldn’t want to play a Bond Girl if she had no voice.’

Lorraine then chimed in: ‘Or you could just be Bond?’
